It's more of an action game, with rpg type leveling up factors placed into it.
You can play as three different characters that have a anime look to their appearance.
Good but not great graphics. Characters look really good and so do the monsters and opponents, but the stage areas are bland and average looking.
Music is only okay and average. Same with story.
Gameplay is great. Fast paced and always constant. There is never really a let down of action/fighting to do.
You can level up your characters and the weapons they equip to evolve and make them stronger. Here is where the rpg element influences the game.
When you level up your characters...you can select what gets increased in terms of attack combos. So you can end up with long stringing combos by the end.
Each character can equip many different weapons and each weapon changes their move list. So each character has a huge variety of moves at their disposal.
