I should first say that I have never played a Devil May Cry game before buying this one, so I can't base my review on any experience with prior devil may cry games.
I was suprised this game is so similar to that other Capcom produced game that I have played before,...the Onimusha dawn of dreams game. That is what came to mind when I first played this Devil May Cry game.
It is similar to Onimusha in its leveling up of Dante and likewise, his weapons. That is just like a rpg game. There are many weapons that are of different types and attack styles that are at his disposal throughout the game. He also has four different "styles" that he can switch and evolve further that dramatically change his behavior on the fight scenarios.
It is also like Onimusha in that there are tough and epic battles against huge bosses, throughout the game.
After completing the game you can play as Dante's brother, Vergil.
You also get a survival mode.
It is a really, really hard game. Just like Onimusha. Especially against some bosses. Lots and lots of level grinding to get prepared for these boss battles.
Graphics are pretty good. Music is good too. Good fast paced action.
The only thing to complain about is the stiff and akward camera that is a challenge to get used to. The Onimusha game has a difficult camera to work with too...but it works better for that game than this one.
