It has the almost exact same fighting engine as the dragonball z3 game, but it's not that game's sequel.
For some strange reason, the developers decided to take the beam battles, burst mode, and dragon rushes that were in the Z3 game...out of this one. Which in my opinion, was a mistake on their part.
But they replaced those fighting applications with the new super charged ki dash, and a parry defense, and a few new additions to the gameplay including the ability to fly and dash into the foreground and backround. Meaning, not just towards and away the opponent, but around them as well.
10 or more new characters are in the game, adding to the roster that were already in the dragonball z3 roster.
Unfortunatly, the world tournament mode was taken out of the game, but not the stage area of the world tournament.
This game's mini games were super fun though. Better than the mini games found in the narutimate hero games.
They include running along snake way, catching bubbles, stopping cell with tien's ultimate attack, and playing as cel who is trying to avoid being detected by picolo.
These mini games were very fun and well done by the developers.
In conclusion, if you liked Z3, you'll like this one. If you did not like Z3, then you won't like this one.
Just keep in mind it is not Z3's sequel, but its alternative version.
