PS2 Ghost in the Shell SAC Mission 2A (05:06)
THIS IS LEGAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE. DO NOT MARK THIS FOR DELETION OR YOU WILL BE DESTROYED! ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! MAKE YOUR TIME! (Sorry, youtube likes deleting my gundam game footage, since some trigger happy idiot at sunrise goes on a reporting spree of anything with Gundam in the title) Gameplay from the 2005 PS2 release, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Aside from some stiff lookin' movement animations (when moving the player's direction), and a very tight aim system, the game was alright. The AI wasn't too good, but it was still pretty fun. All things considered, it was a pretty decent game, however it easily fell under the radar back then. Visually, this was also a masterpiece. Bandai had never done anything this great lookin' before, and soon after they paired up with Namco to form Bandai Namco Games. The game's plot is still as convoluted as the show, but if you're a fan of the original movies/show then you really need to get the game, given you've a ps2. Even the psp version (a totally different game) isn't so bad. Again, the AI isn't so hot in it, and the aiming system is one people hate getting used to (the Coded Arms 'aim with face buttons' system), but it still feels like Ghost in the Shell. Probably both dirt cheap now anyway. I always get asked this question, so I'll answer it beforehand. This video was created by playing my PS2 though my PC's TV Tuner Card. It allows various sound and video connections to go straight into your PC, and with ...

1. The anime come to life!

Posted by Antonio on 11th Sep 2010

First of all, this game, is one of the greatest games ever made for the ps2.
The graphics-The game doesn't follow the cel-shaded look of the anime at all. The developers decided to go for a "realistic" look to the characters, but I think it would have been better if the had followed a anime look instead because it would have made the story/characters more recognizable...since its based on a famous anime/manga.
Batou looks exactly like Batou, but Motoko only slightly resembles herself from the tv show. Apparently the developers had a problem with recreating her distinctive, hard to define features.

the music-from the anime show. Great.
the sound efx-awesome! bullet sounds really sound great in this game. You can hear the clanging and chirping of bullets crashing against metal poles, gates, and barriers. the dudding sounds of bullets hitting concrete also well done. Motoko's heavy cyborg body landing onto platforms really makes a heavy hitting sound,...like a 1 ton anvil landing flat on the floor.
in other words, the sound effects are perfect. Better than in any game you've ever played.

the gameplay-The game is a 3rd person shooter with 1st person aiming.
You control the character's movements with the left analog stick, and control the crosshairs/reticule with the right analog stick.*you must first calibrate the stiffness/slickness of the motions of the right analog stick first to customize it to your liking!*
You can shoot,jump,evade,crawl,duck,run,climb up/down stairs,climb across platforms by fingertips(motoko only),throw grenades,knives, etc...
Very,Very deep gameplay.
In one stage, you get to control Tachikoma.
You also get to hack the "Ghosts" of the enemy. That means you can mentally possess your opponent's body for a short time to wreak chaos amongst the enemy troops. Awesome!
Story-game follows the story of the first season STAND ALONE COMPLEX story.

The game is very obscure, but near perfect.

The game has alot of replay value because once you beat the game, you can play select stages and try to find and destroy paper fans, 10 in each stage(many are very, very well hidden) to unlock secret weapons. You can play through on more difficult settings too.
