I have never played a dynasty warriors game, but everyone that has played one, along with this Sengoku Basara 2 heroes game...have all stated that this game is better than dynasty warriors. That is probably why this game is one of the most imported games on the market.
Graphics-good. Everyone of the characters on screen moves with great motions and fluidity. More importantly, even with a huge number of figures in full motion on screen...there is no slowdown whatsoever, at any point in the game, which is an incredible feat achieved by the developers.
Music-great. Opening theme has a catchy rock song, and the music is good throughout the game.
Gameplay-great! There are 30 playable characters in the game, and each one has a specific set of moves...regular and special attacks vary greatly, and as you level up your character, their special attack moveset grows in number. Up to 8 in number, if I remember correctly.
Each character also has specific blocks, dodges, jumps, taunts, and equipment that is akin to their character's personality.
Attacks vary depending on how long you hold the attack button down, how you use the directional L3 joystick, how you tie attacks together between the block, jump, and special attack buttons.
Story-good. The story is loosely based on japan's warring feudal history...but liberties have been taken here and there in regards to characters and their adventurous exploits. The only thing I don't like is that the character's mouths don't move while dialogue is being spoken, but that is common in many action games.
The game has many modes and a ton of different mini-modes in each mode to choose from.
They include-
Story/unification mode
Gaiden mode
Heroes conquest
Free battle
Heroes vs
Basara tournament

Options
With 2 player modes in Heroes conquest,Heroes vs, and Basara tournament...you and your friend can play through different type missions, with the action displayed in a split-screen way, horizontally instead of vertically. Has a fighting game mode, 1p vs 2p, or 1p vs cpu.

If you like the dynasty warriors games, you'll like this one, if you don't, then you won't.
