The game has a great list of characters. For the return of street fighter, it was really important that Capcom brought back the original 12 characters. The game also introduces 4 new characters(Abel, Crimson Viper, Rufus, and El Fuerte). Even though they're not that strong, their fighting styles actually do a great job of making the fights interesting. And they actually do enough to give the original 12 a run for their money. The 4 new players are open at the start, so you'll be playing with 16 characters immediately. The other 9 characters must be unlocked. They include Sakura, Cammy, Fei Long, Rose, Dan, Gen, and Akuma. One unlockable character is Gouken, who becomes playable for the first time. For those that don't know, Gouken is Akuma's brother, and the sensei of Ryu and Ken. And then you have the final boss, Seth. As a whole, you'll get 25 characters after unlocking everyone. You have to admit that this is a good list to start off with for the return of a popular franchise like street fighter. And they'll all fun to play with. Dan still somewhat sucks, but even he's gotten better. Sort of.SF4 plays pretty much what you'd expect from SF2 was aside from the new ultra moves system.If your new to fighting games this is good to teach you the foundation of fighting games it's a great game to start with.
